Job Description

A local government contractor, specializing in management and technology support services, is looking to fill their position for an experienced Proposal Manager.

  

Proposal Manager candidates should be enthusiastic, able to take initiative, have a strong work ethic and want to work with a company they can grow with.

  

Proposal Manager Job Description:  

  • Responsible for proposal development process; to include proposal response, managing contributors, schedule, outline and assurance that it is compliant and persuasive in accordance with the RFP and other referenced documents.
  • This position will also lead and manage all GWAC task order responses.   
  • Establish a schedule for writing, reviews and production based on due dates.
  • Create templates and outlines to assist writers in developing compliant responses.
  • Lead kick off meetings, ensure proposal outlines and schedules are distributed, and writers are assigned.
  • Analyze Federal RFP’s and outline all stated requirements.
  • Track schedule and progress for deadlines.
  • Edit/re-write sections of proposals to ensure readability and compliance.
  • Need to be available to work long hours and weekends when needed to complete proposals on schedule.  

 

 

 

Job Requirements

  

Proposal Manager Required Skills/Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year college/university and 4 years related proposal support experience.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Corel Draw, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing government proposal responses and related documentation in response to customer solicitations.
  • Ability to understand complex concepts.
  • Ability to articulate client needs.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage complex workload and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service focus/skills.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Adept at writing introductory paragraphs, original text, re-write/edit sections of proposals to ensure readability and compliance without distorting author’s original intent.
  • Demonstrated experience to take data developed by subject matter experts to refine and incorporate into the proposal text.
  • Creative problem solving.
  • Ability work collaboratively with the team.
  • Flexible with respect to conceptual and procedural change.
  • Graphically oriented, to assist assigned authors and subject matter in developing graphics for illustrations and cover proposed to be accurate.
