Overview PGH Celebrates 40 Years of Service
A milestone in the growth of the City of Plantation was reached on November 6, 1966, when Plantation General Hospital (PGH) opened its doors and arms to the families of Broward County, Florida.

Almost 40 years ago, there was a dire need in the West Broward area for a full-service community hospital that would provide the finest in medical care and technology. PGH, a 264-bed, full-service acute care hospital, has made incredible strides throughout the years to become recognized as one of Broward County's leaders in Maternity and Pediatrics.

Today, PGH has delivered over 70,000 babies and has nationally recognized and respected centers of excellence in Maternity, High Risk Maternity, Pediatrics, Pediatric Intensive Care and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care. Currently PGH excels in outpatient diabetes care, wound healing, nutritional counseling, gastric bypass surgery and minimally invasive surgeries and procedures.

PGH has a warm, family-friendly environment, which is a reflection of the people who work at the hospital. There are 100 employees with more than 20 years of service and dedication to PGH. With over 500 physicians and 800 employees on staff, PGH provides the best care in comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services.

Looking back over the years, PGH is proud of the accomplishments achieved and is honored to serve the communities who have supported the hospital for the past 40 years.
