Overview

The story begins in 1993 when serving fresh food fast was virtually unheard of. In fact, the term ‘fast casual’ didn’t even exist. The only option for busy people and families on the go was the fast food drive thru window. Not exactly a healthy or wholesome option. Aaron Kennedy was living in New York City at the time and asked the question, “Why not?” Why couldn’t a restaurant bridge the gap and offer convenience and fresh, flavorful food. Radical thinking, right?


Being in one of the restaurant capitals of the world, Aaron also saw a lot of niche restaurants – Italian, American, Chinese – but that required everyone to be in the mood for the same thing. So he asked himself another question, “Why not offer all of these great flavors under one roof?” But there was something missing. There had to be an anchor, something that would tie the concept together. Enter the noodle. Noodles and pasta are part of almost every cuisine – from Pad Thai in Thailand to Lo Mein in China to Mac & Cheese in Wisconsin. So why not put the world’s best loved noodle and pasta dishes on one menu and serve them fast and fresh?


Fast forward to 1995 and that’s what he did. What started as a single restaurant in the Cherry Creek neighborhood of Denver, Colorado has now grown to more than 250 restaurants in 18 states. Along the way we added soups, salads and sandwiches. And with an executive team lead by industry maven Kevin Reddy, this is just the beginning.

Noodle Favorites: Japanese Pan Noodles – Carmelized udon noodles in a sweet soy sauce, broccoli, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, Asian sprouts, black sesame and cilantro. Try with sautéed beef. Penne Rosa – Spicy tomato cream sauce, penne pasta, mushrooms, tomato, spinach and wine, parmesan or feta. Try with parmesan crusted chicken. Wisconsin Mac & Cheese – A blend of cheddar and jack cheeses, cream, elbow macaroni – our number one seller. Try with meatballs.

In the 15 years since Noodles & Company’s founding, the core concept has not changed. It’s about serving real food, real quick. It starts with fresh and wholesome ingredients that are sautéed to order just for you.

Our menu is broadly appealing and is loved by kids and adults alike. We have something for everyone in our Asian, Mediterranean and American categories. Our noodle dishes, soups and salads range from healthful to indulgent and spicy to comforting. Pad Thai? We got it. Mac & Cheese? It’s our number one seller. Looking for something on the lighter side? Our Chinese Chop Salad and Med Salad are full of flavor.

Don’t you hate those places that make a big deal out of custom orders? No need to worry. We encourage our guests to customize their dish to their liking. So add in a protein like grilled chicken or organic tofu or swap out a vegetable – we have 14 of them on our menu.

We also do things a little bit different at Noodles, so don’t be surprised. Your made to order dish will be delivered to your table within minutes on real china and real silverware. We won’t scream out your name. And don’t even try to find a trash can in our restaurant – we’ll clear the table for you. And the best part, no tip required.
