Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc. produces light-weight, multiwall and complimentary specialty kraft papers for an established domestic and global customer base. The company also produces containerboard and corrugated boxes. Longview operates a pulp and paper mill at Longview, Wash., and a network of seven converting plants in the western United States.

Our pulp and paper mill is strategically located in Longview, Wash., close to several export ports and with ready access to Interstate 5, two rail lines and on-site barge traffic. Our facilities include one of the highest-capacity and most diverse paper mills in North America, and a network of well-equipped corrugated container plants in four Western states. We manufacture more than 70 grades of kraft paper and containerboard, and supply a broad range of corrugated packaging and solid fibre slip sheets. We supply our products to 35 countries worldwide.

Cedar City, Utah Longview’s Cedar City sheet plant is conveniently located in southern Utah, along the north/south I-15 interstate and east/west I-70 interstate. We make boxes for office furniture, a variety of food and dairy products, clothing, kitchen cabinets, and numerous other items.

The plant opened for business in July 1995 to provide corrugated cartons to a home furniture manufacturer. Since then, we expanded our geographic focus. Currently, boxes manufactured in Cedar City are marketed in Southern Utah, Southern Nevada and parts of Arizona, and we are on a path to grow even further beyond our traditional market areas by partnering with other Longview box plants.

Cedar City has seen periods of both growth and business reduction. Consolidations came mainly from companies consolidating locations and moving their operations out of the area. Despite changes to business in the surrounding communities, the container plant grew enough to allow for two building expansions in 1999 and 2001. Additional warehouse space is being rented in Las Vegas.

Longview’s Cedar City container plant is located in the foothills of southwestern Utah, along the I-15 corridor. Cedar City is the largest city in Iron County. It is located between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, 225 miles south of Salt Lake City and 172 miles north of Las Vegas.

Longview, Washington Longview’s container plant in Longview, Washington, offers diverse converting capabilities for corrugated and solid fiber products. The plant, built in 1930, is located alongside the corporate headquarters and mill site for Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc.

The plant is well equipped, with a manufacturing capability that offers ten flute combinations in both single wall and double wall components, and extends from aqueous barrier coatings, plain to four-color post-print capability, laminated bulk containers, various solid fiber products and Liquiplex® containers.

The Longview container plant has the capacity to exceed 80 million square feet of corrugated and 40 million square feet of solid fiber supply on a monthly basis. The plant is certified by the American Institute of Baking and provides on-site design, graphics and box testing services to ensure that customer’s expectations and requirements are exceeded.

The plant offers a professional, highly trained sales and technical staff available to promptly respond to our customers’ packaging requirements with a broad base of quality and on–time products and services.

Longview’s container plant in Longview, Washington, is located on the banks of the Cowlitz and Columbia Rivers, one hour north of Portland, Oregon, and two hours south of Seattle, Washington. It’s only a short hour and a half drive west to the Pacific Coast, or east into the heart of the Cascade Mountains.

Oakland, California Longview’s Oakland container plant is located on the east side of San Francisco Bay, just minutes over the Bay Bridge to San Francisco.

Longview’s Oakland facility began serving customers in 1950. Currently we operate in over 190,000 sq. ft., which is about four and a half acres under roof. The facility is a full-service custom-corrugated packaging manufacturer, which sells a wide variety of corrugated products to customers throughout the state of California. Wine and beverage and fresh produce is a large part of our business mix.

The plant boasts modern, well-maintained equipment summarized in the "learn more" section below. In addition, it maintains an in-house computerized ink blending system with an on-site ink technician, providing unlimited press-ready ink formulations. In-plant structural design provides support to sales and customer organizations for new and revised products.

Longview’s Oakland container plant is located on the east side of San Francisco Bay, just minutes over the Bay Bridge to San Francisco. In addition to its location next to San Francisco, Oakland offers 19 miles of coastline to the west and magnificent rolling hills to the east.

Seattle, Washington Longview’s Seattle container plant is located near the I-5 corridor in the industrial heart of Seattle. The plant operates from a 130,000 sq. ft. facility, and has 70-million square feet of monthly production capacity.

Originally built in 1954, the Seattle plant has serviced an ever-expanding market in western Washington, British Columbia, Alaska, and Hawaii. The market for our boxes includes wine and beverage, fish, meat and poultry, food processors, and fresh produce. High end graphics and point of purchase requirements are a large part of our business mix. The plant is certified by the American Institute of Baking.

The city of Seattle is the largest city in the Northwestern United States. It is situated along the eastern shores of the Puget Sound, 114 miles south of the Canadian border. Logging was Seattle’s first major industry, but by the 19th century it had become a commercial and shipbuilding center, and a gateway to Alaska. Today, Seattle is home to a range of industries, including aerospace and high-tech. It has also become a center for “green” industry and sustainable development.

Spanish Fork, Utah Longview’s Spanish Fork, Utah, container plant serves the consumer products (cleaning supplies), manufacturing, furniture and food and beverage markets. It is located near a major, growing urban center and on main intermountain interstate and rail corridors.

The company originally broke ground for this 175,000-square-foot plant in March 1988. Operations in the facility started in September of that same year. Since original construction, five expansions have increased the facility to 565,000 square feet. It also operates a 40,000 square-foot warehouse in Logan, Utah, complete with design, sales, storage and delivery capabilities to service the northern Utah and southern Idaho markets.

The Spanish Fork facility is the most diverse container plant within the company. From single wall to triple wall, and from the brown box to high-end litho lamination, Spanish Fork provides a variety of products.

Longview’s Spanish Fork container plant is located 50 miles south of Salt Lake City, in an area surrounded by sweeping mountain vistas. Plenty of skiing and other outdoor recreation is easy to find.

Twin Falls, Idaho Longview’s Twin Falls container plant, located in the center of the Idaho vegetable region, was built in 1970 in southern Idaho to manufacture boxes for the growing Idaho potato industry. It serves its customer base through access to major interstate and rail corridors. French fry plants and fresh potato facilities were the main focus in the early years. This focus has since expanded to dairy, fresh fruit, onions, pork, beef, electronics, beverage and many other food and industrial applications.

Twin Falls has seen steady growth since 1970 and this growth is expected to continue in the future. After five plant expansions, massive retooling and the addition of regional warehouses, the Twin Falls, Idaho plant is regarded as a world-class container manufacturing and distribution operation. In-house structural and graphics design services assist in developing the right container for the packaging need.

Twin Falls is capable of making high-graphic boxes, including those with four-color graphics. Its two corrugators (single and double-wall), 11 converting machines and regional connections to other Longview plants provide Twin Falls with the firepower to handle nearly every job.

The plant is certified by the American Institute of Baking.

Longview’s Twin Falls container plant is located in the largest city of Idaho’s Magic Valley region. The Snake River Canyon forms the city's northern limits. Three waterfalls are found in the immediate area, including Shoshone Falls. Because it’s the largest city in the region, Twin Falls serves as the regional commerce center for both south-central Idaho and northeast Nevada.

Yakima, Washington With 450,000 square feet, the Yakima container facility is considered one of the largest corrugated packaging plants in the industry. Near major routes to all directions, the Yakima Plant is well situated for servicing its market areas of Central and Eastern Washington, parts of Oregon and Idaho, and the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta, Canada.

Approximately 65 percent of Yakima’s volume is from fresh apples, pears, cherries, peaches, potatoes and onions. The balance of the mix is from processed foods including frozen potato products, frozen vegetables, juice and wine. Approximately 20 percent of both segments are exported to customers outside of the United States. The product mix requires a strong emphasis on board and package performance in high humidity conditions.

In addition to products manufactured in Yakima, the Yakima sales force sells products from other Longview facilities. This includes almost 50 percent of the solid fiber manufactured in the Longview plant, approximately 30 percent of the laminated totes also manufactured in Longview, and smaller percentages of triple wall and litho-laminated products made in Spanish Fork, Utah.

The plant is capable of running high-graphic boxes up to and including those with five-color graphics, and is certified by the American Institute of Baking.

Longview’s Yakima container plant is located southeast of Mt. Rainier National Park, in the heart of central Washington State. Yakima is situated in the Yakima Valley, a noted apple producing region, a major wine region, and a region which produces roughly 75% of all hops grown in the USA
