Interim HealthCare Inc., founded in 1966, was originally called Medical Personnel Pool. It was a division of Labor Pool of America, which was founded in 1946. The overall name was changed to Interim in 1992. The new name allowed the company to operate diverse lines of business under one banner and also more adequately reflected the services provided at that time.

In 1997, Interim HealthCare was acquired by Cornerstone Equity Investors as a spin-off from Interim. Cornerstone is a leading equity investment firm, which sponsors management buyouts of growth companies. It is based in New York City and has a long history of successful health care investments.

The separation of Interim HealthCare from Interim was pursued to enable Interim HealthCare to focus on opportunities to become a clinically and technologically advanced health care company. As an independent company, Interim HealthCare was much better positioned to accelerate its growth by providing focused clinical programs, data and information.

Today, Interim HealthCare is the nation's largest combined provider of home care and supplemental staffing. It is also the nation's oldest and most successful health care franchise organization with the average owner tenure of 20 years.
