Job Description
The Public Relations Manager will be responsible for managing the public relations program for Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. including a wide range of broad based multi-level efforts. The Manager must be an outstanding communicator, as well as a detailed orientated, highly organized, creative thinker and expert multi-tasker, able to work in a fast paced environment.
Job Specifications
•Day to day, hands on management of the public relations program including media inquiries, company’s media outreach efforts, product placement opportunities, seasonal efforts, new stores efforts, and press releases.
•Plan and manage efforts including satellite and ground media tours, and digital/electronic public relations
•Manage media relationships including relationship database and related analysis
•Manage department budget and calendar
•Manage media monitoring, tracking and communication
•Manage the tracking, analysis and reporting to optimize the program’s efforts
•Manage vendor relationships
•Collaborate with corporate departments to leverage knowledge and brand impact
•Partner with merchandise and store teams
•Work with subsidiaries ( buybuyBaby, Christmas Tree Shops, and Harmon) to support and grow their public relations efforts
•Additional projects as assigned
Job Requirements
Experience Requirements: (minimum and preferred)
Minimum – 7+ years of Public Relations experience
•Bachelors degree with focus on public relations, communications and marketing
•MS Offices programs, Mac experience helpful (Photoshop/Illustrator)
Preferred – 10+ years of Public Relations experience
•Master’s Degree

•Large retail chain public relations
•Planning, managing and executing a broad based multi-level public relations program
•Satellite and ground media tours, digital/electronic public relations
•Media relationships and vendor management
•Project management and negotiation
•Budget and program analysis and reporting
•Proven leadership & strategic skills:
•Outstanding communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills.
•Strategic, flexible and creative thinker
•Excellent analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
•Detailed orientated, highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines and goals
•Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and also effectively in a team and across departments
•Have strong interpersonal skills and a highly professional manner.
