Mortgage Loan Underwriter

Alaska USA is currently recruiting for a Mortgage Underwriter, with the proven ability to process, originate and/or underwrite conventional, FHA, RD and VA loans, in Glendale, Arizona.

SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Responsible for the underwriting of conventional, FHA, VA, and RD mortgage loans, as well as specialty  program mortgage loans (such as HUD184, FHA203K, and State/ Community bond programs), to insure compliance with established policies and requirements.
• Serve as delegated or direct-endorsement underwriter within the requirements established by the investor, insurer or guarantor.
• Assist in maintenance of the credit union’s list of approved appraisers within the division.

EXPERIENCE:

• Five years underwriting experience.
• Must have an active DE CHUMS and SAR number and experience in underwriting Rural Development products.
• Working experience with DU, LP, and GUS underwriting systems preferred.
• Advanced industry courses in real estate lending recommended.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management.
• Five years in the real estate lending industry, underwriting preferable, may be substituted for a degree.
