As a Celadon Maintenance Coordinator/Dispatcher you’ll get that opportunity. You’ll help a fleet of over-the-road Truck Drivers - both men and women - with breakdowns and speedy repair assistance. Arranging approved diesel ground transportation vendors, setting up hotel accommodations and ensuring the customer receives their freight in a timely manner are all part of your day. Past customer service, dispatcher, maintenance, transportation, automotive and mechanical experience is preferred. Job Responsibilities

  


  • Taking care of a fleet of over-the-road truck drivers with mechanical breakdowns
  • Using our computer (customer relationship management) application to document and manage details related to the accident or breakdown
  • Identifying approved vendors, communicating truck driver mechanical needs, dispatching vendor to site
  • Securing estimates, authorizing repairs, auditing and paying invoices
  • Sending and receiving messages throughout the day directly to the truck drivers, following up on vendor arrivals and repair/restoration steps
  • Completing after hours accident reports, providing reports to our claims department
  • Handling every need of your fleet truck drivers e.g. vendor delays, hotel arrangements, re-loading freight to a new trailer
  • Delivering top-tier customer service first and foremost to our fleet truck drivers and to vendors, warranty companies and other departments (A/P, Load Planning, Safety, etc.)  

 

Job Requirements

Our top Maintenance Coordinators (Customer Service Reps/Dispatchers) often come with past ground transportation knowledge and a mechanical aptitude. Success does not hinge on a precise work history as much as a passion for delivering top-tier customer service to your customers, the men and women driving our trucks. We also look for:



  • High School Diploma (or GED) is required; any kind of degree in diesel automotive technology (technical/mechanical school) is a plus
  • Familiarization with AS400 and TMT / TMW Maintenance Software a Plus

  • Trucking or ground transportation work experience is a plus. 
  • Any mechanical, automotive, ground transportation work experience &/or knowledge (with customer service being a key component is a plus)
  • Basic computers and Microsoft applications knowledge is required; average typing speed is a plus
  • A good understanding of geography and the ability to use a road atlas
  • Outstanding customer service, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking ability, flexible and adaptable personality 
  • Appreciates a non-traditional 12-hour (2/2/3) work schedule with every other weekend off (You basically end up working only half the year!)
  • Bilingual English/French, English/Spanish is a plus
