 LONG TERM CONTINGENT POSITION - CONTRACT IS OPEN ENDED - COULD BE FOR YEARS


CONSTRUCTION SAFETY INSPECTOR POSITION 

 

 

 

Under the direct supervision of the Department Director,   the duties of the Construction Safety Inspectors shall include, but not be limited to the following:

 

  • Position requires a  Site Safety Manager 40 hour course issued by NYC Dept. of Buildings.
  • Independently conduct 3-5 Construction Safety Inspections daily during the hours that the contractors are working.
  • Prepare and distribute written reports, including photographs, using computerized information system within 24 hours of inspection.
  • Be on call for all construction safety emergencies or accidents.
  • Conduct accident investigations and prepare detailed report with photos.
  • Review specific site safety plans to approve/disapprove.
  • Attend protocol and pre-construction meetings.
  • Provide instruction to contractors regarding construction safety issues.
  • Working knowledge of City, State and Federal safety codes
  • Good Computer skills to perform paperwork
