Job Details

• Perform specimen processing, testing and data analysis.
• Responsible for day‐to‐day supervision of lab personnel.
• Daily laboratory operations.
• HR related functions: timecard reviews; PTO management, evaluation and documentation performance reviews as directed.
• Personnel scheduling.
• Daily task scheduling.
• Train staff and ensuring that protocols are followed.
• Develop protocols.
• Schedule equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Perform troubleshooting.
• Maintain integrity of process following and reporting QA/QC occurrences, monitor test analysis and ensure that acceptable analytical (and sample testing/integrity) performance is maintained.
• Assist with corrective actions as needed.
• Assist in reducing QA/QC issues.
• Work to ensure process is compliant.
• Communicate regularly with QA officer.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or other Health Science
• Specialized knowledge in molecular biology utilizing DNA extraction, PCR, real‐time PCR, genotyping, and DNA sequence analysis. Other molecular genetic techniques experience a plus.
• Minimum 3‐year bench work experience required
• Minimum 1‐ year supervisory experience required
• ASCP Certification a plus
• Genotyping and sequencing experience preferred
• Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
