Job Title: Value Stream Leader
Reporting To: Business Unit Manager
I. Purpose of Position
♦ To provide technical assistance and engineering support to the manufacturing production area.
♦ To direct and coordinate all manufacturing activities in a value streams from raw product to finished goods.
♦ To ensure equipment safety, part quality, machine availability and cost reduction in an effort to assist machining operations in meeting policy deployment goals and KPI targets.
♦ To facilitate an environment of TPM and PM of equipment and reduction of unplanned downtime.
♦ To support Lean Conversion efforts in Manufacturing
II. Key Responsibilities
♦ Assist in design, development and implementation of equipment and processes for manufacturing operations as needed to support VSM implementation.
♦ Provide production area with training on machines. Machine tools, process and inspection to perform daily productions needs.
♦ Establish min/max tooling requirements through history of usage data and reliability studies.
♦ Assist manufacturing production area in setup and production problems via various troubleshooting and problem solving techniques
♦ Specify machinery and tooling
♦ Assistance on implementation of quick change tooling programs in accordance with SMED practices.
♦ Participation in kaizen teams and assume kaizen team leader position as necessary.
♦ Implement and sustain 5S in offices and work areas.
♦ To lead and guide associates in their responsibilities
♦ Insure quality and expected productivity through the value stream.
♦ Provide associate development and guidance.
♦ Promote an atmosphere of continuous improvement through the use of DBS tools.
♦ Maintain inventory control
♦ Planning and scheduling of associates, materials and processes.
♦ Lead with a proactive approach and provide problem solving skills

♦ Reports directly to the Business Unit Manager.
♦ Interacts with Manufacturing Engineering, Materials, Purchasing, Finance, Human Resources and Quality.

♦ Project tracking and managing timelines to a goal
♦ Ability to effectively develop subordinates through special training, coaching and exposure to new opportunities
♦ Safety(OSHA Recordable rate), Quality(First Pass Yield, Process capability improvement), Delivery(Schedule Attainment, Lead Time Reduction, Pack Stock outs) and Cost(Demand Performance, Uptime, Labor productivity, Tooling costs, Scrap) measurements for the area.
♦ Implementation of key Policy Deployment breakthrough objectives such as Hidden Factory.
