Network Engineer

The Network Engineer helps to design, implement and support Data Center, Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, Internet Access, Network Security, Remote Access solutions and authentication platforms. This position requires regular participation in 24x7 on-call rotation and daily support activities during business hours.
 
Responsibilities of the Network Engineer

• Engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance and upgrade of the Data Center network, LAN and/or WAN
• Providing technical support to various customers and departments/users with regards to the LAN/WAN
• Reviewing anomalies that are broad and potentially service impacting
• Researching, evaluating and recommending hardware and software solutions
• Acting as an escalation point for network-related customer issues from Customer Service Center
• Planning of implementation activities prior to the installation of network hardware
• Implementing and supporting network security solutions, such as firewalls and IPS appliances, in accordance with best practices and company policies
• Installing, configuring and maintaining Cisco Wi-Fi equipment and Cisco CUCM w/ Unity voice mail
• Installing, configuring and maintaining F5 Big-IP infrastructure, including LTM and ASM
• May serve as a liaison with customers, vendors and other third party providers

Requirements of the Network Engineer

• CCIE or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 10 years of network experience
• Experience working in enterprise Data Centers is required
• Experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies is required; Nexus experience preferred
• Experience with firewalls is required; Cisco ASA preferred
• Experience with Intrusion Prevention/Detection solutions is preferred
• Experience with Service Load Balancing is preferred; F5 experience is highly preferred
• Experience with Cisco Wi-Fi solutions is preferred
• Experience with Cisco CUCM is preferred
• Must be self-motivated with strong sense of ownership
• Expert Cisco configuration and troubleshooting skills across multiple platforms including: Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco CUCM, and Cisco wireless solutions
• Excellent communications skills and the ability to interact with customers and vendors
• Excellent documentation skills

 
The Network Engineer is a direct hire opportunity with one of our clients in Morrisville, NC. They are looking for one senior level and one mid-level person. Target salary range of $70,000 - $95,000, depending upon level. A candidate located in Morrisville is preferred but client will consider people able to relocate themselves.
