Job Description

 

Network Engineer – Routing & Switching

The Network Engineer should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and/or experience:

 

Data communications and network technology .

Understanding of operational and technical requirements for network services, particularly at the network layer.

Managerial experience in a  network environment with a significant number of direct staff.

Experience analyzing and designing routed and switched networks across a mega global enterprise network.

Expert knowledge of emerging technologies and experience applying new solutions to system requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to present material to senior DoD and non-DoD officials.

Network design, engineering, and operational experience in a military headquarters or command NOSC environment

System design and engineering experience

Experience developing and implementing military systems similar to the mission-critical computer and software systems maintained and delivered by the MCNOSC

Experience in basic Internet Protocol (IP) based services

Data and voice communications experience

Job Requirements

At a minimum, the Routing and Switching Engineer should have the following education, certifications, IT related experience, and security clearance:

 

  • Master’s degree in IT related studies - or - equivalent experience
  • 8570 IASAE III
  • ITIL v3 Foundations certification
  • Professional/Expert Cisco certification (routing and switching preferred)
  • 15 or more years IT experience (in addition to degree equivalent experience)
  • Top Secret w/SCI
