Job Description


As the Programmer Analyst, you will work as a full time employee in Nassau County, NY. analyzing, designing, directing and performing the development, enhancement and maintenance of designated systems, primarily in the iSeries/AS400/RPG environments. This is 50% development, 50% support. For the first 6 months, you will be travelling to Ohio one (1) time every four (4)weeks for 3 days. This is a 24/7, 365 when on call support.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will provide technical assistance and write programs for users
  • Analyze, design, and develop new systems as assigned
  • Write detailed instructions for documentation for both internal technical and end user documentation
  • Conduct testing and training with users as needed
  • Provide daily support to resolve user problems an answer all questions


 

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related field or a proven record of success as an AS/400 programmer with a minimum of three years programming experience.
  • Working knowledge of DOS, IBM AS400, and Microsoft Windows environments and knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming
  • Strong understanding for RPG in an AS400 environment and working knowledge of Structured Query Language
  • Knowledge of IBM DB2/400 database programming and ability to write technical specs and provide detailed instructions for user documentation
  • Ability to demonstrate software application and lead user training
