A Senior Systems Administrator (Sr.SysAdmin) is needed to join a team whose goal is developing, establishing core capabilities for integration and support systems integration, testing, and training delivery efforts. Primarily in the Cloud environments. The individual will work inline with Architectural Design Sessions with customers to help them develop an approach and strategy around their virtualization and Cloud Computing needs. The Sr. SysAdmin will provide Technical and Delivery leadership on virtualization projects involving Virtualization or Private Cloud technologies. The position involves the following areas of concentration / expectations: Ability to evaluate new virtualization and private cloud technologies, Deploy and Maintain a multi-server, environments including: VMware vCloud, Windows Server 2003/2008, Monitor daily software builds and resolve problems as needed, Perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis while working with developers to identify problems and resolutions with in-house and over the counter software applications.
Job Requirements
The required skills are: An understanding of processor, storage, and network virtualization technologies, including Type 1 and Type 2 hypervisors; An understanding of cloud orchestration and management software and application interfaces (APIs), including those from our selected cloud vendor partner, VMware, and OpenStack; An understanding of networked storage technologies and application interfaces (APIs), including SAN, NAS, and cloud object storage; An understanding of desktop virtualization technologies, including thin/zero clients, shared hosted desktop delivery, per-user VM delivery, and user data and settings management (profiles); An understanding of the U.S. Federal government security frameworks, including the NIST SP 800 series, DIACAP/DIARMF, controlled unclassified information (CUI) data management, and national security information (NSI) management; An understanding of the typical hardware, software, and storage technologies used in commercial and Government data centers; An understanding of commercial and Government data center operations practice; An understanding of IT infrastructure management principles, including familiarity with the OGC/itSMF ITIL best practices. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years general experience in systems administration, with a cross platform equivalency of 10 years experience in systems administration in both Windows and Unix operation systems (mobility OS is a plus, but not required). Minimum of 5 years experience in cloud systems administration BS/BA degree in Computer Science / related technical degree (e.g. Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science) is required; All work will be performed in Columbia, MD or at the client locations nearby; no relocation is authorized.
The candidate must be a US Citizen and be have a TS/SCI (with Lifestyle polygraph) clearance.
