Background in Engineering, Field Construction, Planning, or related fields a plus. Experience with the following software, or equivalent a plus: Pitney Bowes MapInfo, Delorme Street Atlas, Google Earth, Safe Software FME, Autodesk's AutoCAD Map, Microsoft's Streets & Trips, Microsoft's Visio, Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Candidates should possess the following skills: communication diplomacy, an eagerness to learn, desire to work in a team environment, be detail-oriented, able to function well in an ever-changing environment, and be polite and professional.
Primary job function is to use mapping software to accomplish requested work in a timely manner.
Some, but not all work that is handled by this position:
•Produce regional and/or city maps representing existing and conceptual fiber routes and points of interest.
•Translate various forms of addresses, coordinates, and gps locations to accommodate the mapping software, creating a clear representation of the point’s location.
•Provide information needed to other teams for adequate evaluation of request.
•Must be able to read and understand detailed drawings.
•Must learn knowledge of the network quickly.
•Will need to be able to create visually appealing maps for business presentation.
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent and 2-3 years technical/telephony experience. Associate Degree in a technical discipline preferred. College hours or formal technical training may be substituted for some experience as deemed appropriate.
