To assure client's Energy Management System (EMS) meets the functional requirements of System Operations through ongoing review of industry standards, regulations operations data and operating criteria. Serves as lead engineer on EMS development projects. To assure the efficient utilization of clien'ts power supply resources through development, review and refinement of generation control applications such as AGC/ACE in the EMS system. To apply engineering review of substation and transmission data and drawings as it relates to EMS. To be instrumental in the implementation of the Dispatcher Trainer Simulator (DTS). To stay abreast of NERC/FERC policies, standards and proposed changes, employee will participate in assigned industry task groups and provide input consistent with client's interests. Initiates changes in client's operating practices, policies and processes as are necessary to assure client's compliance with such standards. Prepare reports as required for business and compliance purposes.
Education & Experience:
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Four or more years of engineering experience in the utility industry with specific experience in maintaining EMS (Energy Management System).
Special Background, Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university (ABET).
- PE or PMP Certification
- Advanced technical degree or MBA from an accredited university preferred.
- Knowledge of EMS, RTU interaction at substations, Transmission Systems, and Power Generation Systems.
- Experience with AGC and DTS preferred.
- Clearly demonstrated team leadership abilities on projects.
