 Description

The position is the lead role in the innovative design of new products and must provide engineering, design and project management support for all ongoing fitting development projects. This is to include working with and coordination with client engineering staff, production staff, sales staff and management to design, develop and test couplings to solve customer fitting problems. A hands on mentality with an attitude to get the job done is a must to be successful in this role.
Most of the manufacturing equipment used in production is manufactured in house. The role requires the applicant to conceive, design, test, vend, assemble and trouble shoot major pieces of large hydraulic machinery (presses). This will include the design of metal forming tooling used in the production process. The role also requires the cooperation with management and production with the general goal of streamlining general production processes to obtain greater efficiencies.
Candidate will maintain all drawings in accordance with quality department guidelines. Candidate will also maintain design check list for all designs in accordance with the quality manual, ISO and API Q1. The role also requires the maintenance of company patent and intellectual property files and to follow related deadline schedules. Candidate must coordinate with the company patent attorney in the filing of new patents.
Position will require candidate to perform in all aspects of the business including design engineering, drawing creation, reverse engineering, component selection, purchasing, vendor management, and project management. Candidate will interact with customers and all internal departments and is expected to perform in a professional manner and present a professional image at all times. Candidate must respond to any reasonable request made by the manager or other departments to assist in the smooth running of the company
Candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter who has a passion for engineering, the oil and gas upstream market, and high pressure fitting design. Position will offer unique and complex engineering challenges that require persistence, original thinking and a positive attitude. Candidate shall follow in house engineering processes and will assist in the creation and improvement of companywide process documentation.

 Requirements

Mechanical engineering degree required. Experience in manufacturing and metal forming/forging is a major plus. Candidate must have strong CAD skills, must be experienced in MS Office applications and have strong Excel skills. Positive attitude required from self-starter who desires to be the best and learn something new each day.
