Legal File Clerk / Backup Receptionist
Legal Specialists is seeking a legal file clerk for a premier law firm in Downtown San Jose. Our client is looking to add another superstar file clerk to their team. Prefer 1-2 years working in a law firm as a file clerk, familiarity with the different legal documents, along with front desk and copy experience.
File and index documents within folders for secretaries, paralegals, and attorneys. Organize documents for client files. Create computer indexes. Pick-up and deliver filing projects. Assist in locating missing files. Pull files and re-file in compact shelving. Serve as backup receptionist as assigned. This aspect of the position varies in workload and involves greeting clients and visitors as well as answering incoming calls, taking messages, and maintaining and scheduling conference rooms. Since the receptionist is often the first person with whom clients and visitors interact, he or she is important to the image of the firm and must be polished, professional and articulate.
The desired candidate shall have have a minimum of 1-2 years of working within a law firm environment as a records assistant, file clerk or receptionist. Need experience with indexing, helping with boxes, providing reception relief, assisting with mail distribution, and special projects as assigned. The successful candidate must be professional and responsible, highly organized, resourceful, have exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, written and oral, and proficient in Microsoft Office. Past experience must show initiative, flexibility and ability to multi-task.
