Registered Nurse- Manager of Infection Control - Acute Care

Job Description


The Manager of Infection Control will provide leadership in the development, implementation, and management of evidence-based clinical practices that focus on infection prevention and enhance the infection control program for the hospital and research center. The Infection Control Manager works closely and collaboratively with the Vice President of Institutional Quality and the Medical Director of Infectious Disease and other members of the management team and Infection Control Committee.

Duties and Responsibilities:


1. With the support of the organization, serves as the individual responsible for the infection prevention and control program. 2. Functions as a positive, creative and effective leader, actively participating in performance improvement activities and consulting in the implementation of education programs. 3. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, review of current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. 4. Collaborates with the Vice President of Institutional Quality to develop and maintain the Department budget. . 5. Promotes cooperation and coordinate efforts in minimizing risk in accordance with the organization's strategic plan. 6. Maintains constructive and collegial relations and collaborates with the Vice President Institutional Quality, Medical Staff, and clinical/ancillary/support service managers in cross-functional process improvement, collaborative teamwork, open communication and problem solving to minimize risk and ensure the effective coordination and integration of quality care delivery.




Job Requirements


Requirements:

Education: Bachelors degree required, Healthcare related preferred.
Current California RN license. Board Certification in Infection Control Preferred.
Legal Nurse Consultant preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in Infection Control oversight with a record of achieving performance goals

Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of functional medical terminology. Knowledge of hospital applications, as applicable, for data entry, report/document development, and report generation. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations as they pertain to privacy and security of protected health information. Knowledge of regulatory requirements TJC Standards, CMS, CDPH regulations, state and federal regulatory agency requirements standards and regulations. Knowledge of Performance Improvement methodologies to include teambuilding, intense analysis techniques, and gap analysis strategies.
