Compensation: $75,000.00 to $95,000.00 per year
A large engineering and construction company located in West Houston is looking for an Senior Analyst because of a promotion. The Analyst will be responsible for setting up accounting for new markets the company does work in. In addition to interacting with cross functional team including legal, operations, engineers and C- level leaders the Analyst will also be responsible for Month End Close and other hands on accounting duties.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Statement Closing, Balance Sheet Management & Analytical Review
Coordinating the monthly reconciliation process (from transactional activity to reconciliation to overall analysis) for assigned balance sheet accounts
Agreed tasks assisting in the timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements for the Company in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, as well as schedules established to meet parent company reporting timetables.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Principal support to assigned business units for analysis, controls and preparation of the Budgets and Forecasts.
Investigates actual financial results compared with Budget/Forecast and prior periods, highlighting trends and explaining variances for inclusion with monthly financial statements.
Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or combined graduate degree in Accounting, active CPA and 6+ years in a Big 4 public Accounting firm or from large oil and gas related firm. You must also be comfortable with a very busy, widely varied position and have strong interpersonal skills to be successful in this role.
Compensation is up to 95K and outstanding benefits
