Responsibilities: The Director of Product Management - LATAM is responsible for overseeing products and guiding them from design through new product entry and product refresh cycles. Projects occur along all stages of the product lifecycle from concept development, to technical evaluation, to technical approval, launch, and sustaining activities. The Director of Product Management - LATAM leads cross-functional teams in the product management organization, definition of deliverables, schedule, status reporting and successful completion for current and future product initiatives. The Director of Product Management - LATAM reports to the Vice President of Latin America, and also supports the carrier account teams in the region on a daily basis. This position is responsible for collaborating with key departments at headquarters and within America in order to ensure contributions align with product strategy and road map.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the customization and commercialization of products for new and existing wireless operator customers
- Manage the product customization requirements for hardware, software, packaging and application development with respect to launching products with carrier customers
- Work with the marketing product planning team to validate hardware and software capabilities as well as provide a high level schedule for future products
- Collaborate with Marketing and customer service teams in defining and managing product value proposition and unique selling points (PVP & USP) of customer products
- Create and manage detailed schedules for all new products and the maintenance releases on existing products
- Manage the customization and delivery of all color/material/finish (CMF) related components through new product entry and product refresh cycles
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with cross functional teams to assure the successful development and execution of the products

The successful Director of Product Management will meet the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
- BA or BS in Business, Marketing, and Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent related experience
- 8-15 years professional work in product management or technology management, handset manufacturing and telecom including but not limited to: product development, product management, process alignment, technology development, business development, product marketing, sales operations and research & development, product portfolio management and design
- 8-15 years of proven experience in building and supervising teams and managing culturally diverse workforce, covering a wide variety of product management functions
- Knowledge of CDMA, WCDMA and/or GSM network and service architecture
- Knowledge of mobile terminal architecture and user interfaces
- Proven track record of delivering product solutions
- Ability to look ahead in a complex project and understand potential obstacles in product delivery
- Experience in driving initiates to meet aggressive timelines for interim and final deliverables
- Exceptional collaboration and negotiation skills managing long-term customer relationships
- Proven ability to complete risk analysis and risk mitigation plans
- Problem solving based on data gathering, root cause analysis, understanding of conflicting priorities and perspectives, and creativity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated public speaking and presentation comfort/skill and experience
- PMP certification from accredited institution or professional organization is preferred
- Team management experience managing a culturally diverse workforce
- Highest levels of professional and personal honesty and integrity
