Responsibilities: A Major Electronic Commerce company located in NYC is seeking a Director of Product Management - Logistics. This individual works on global, virtual teams to craft and define new product functionality as well as supporting the marketing, implementation and deployment phases of these new products. This high visibility role provides an opportunity to interact with customers, partners, and internal teams to lead new product initiatives and drive product roadmap. The ideal candidate is a strong customer and partner advocate who understands supply chain in the apparel, footwear and retail space. This is individual is able to lead in a matrix team environment and can achieve results in collaboration with technology, marketing and operations teams.
The Product Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Gathering and prioritizing customer's product requirements, the product vision, driving product planning and working closely with stakeholders in technology, product design, and marketing to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met
- Providing competitive analysis for market requirement documents and launch plans
- Ensuring the product supports the overall strategy and goals
- Translating marketing requirements and product roadmaps into product specification and implementation plans
- Conducting regular collaborative product reviews with senior management
- Working with partner companied where applicable to deliver value added software or services
- Providing knowledge transfer training sessions to key shareholder groups, train the trainer concept
- Supporting baseline customer and marketing communications documents for roll out activities
- Establishing and managing relationships with key shareholders ensuring the successful design implementation and deployment of the product suite
- Interfacing with customers or subject matter experts and researching/evaluating related industry tools and functionality

Ideal candidates will possess the following background and experience:
- 5+ years of product planning and management and project management experience in a high tech environment
- 3+ years of working experience in a high tech company with exposure to product and software development cycles and technology teams
- Experience in the international logistic space, focused on inbound logistics (ocean and air)
- Knowledge of international logistics software capabilities, including design and development or implementation experience
- Knowledge of freight booking, shipment visibility and freight audit and payment software functionality
- Working knowledge of Software as a Service (SaaS) design
- Experience in the apparel, footwear and retail industries if possible
- Strong communication skills
- Effective problem solving abilities
- Education: Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)
