Underwriter for VA Loans, SAR or LAPP required

As an underwriter you will underwrite and review submitted files to analyze for risk. This includes ensuring that loan requests meet program and product specifications or counteroffer to a different product and/or program when appropriate. In addition, you will communicate decision (approval, suspense, denial) to appropriate individuals within the company, uphold fair lending practices , meet targets for productivity, quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Minimum of three years' experience as an underwriter
Minimum of five years' mortgage experience
College degree preferred
Excellent analytical and decision making skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong negotiation skills
Thorough knowledge of complex personal and business financial analysis and an expertise in tax return and balance sheet analysis
Knowledge and proficiency in all levels of mortgage underwriting including Government, Agency, Jumbo and Super Jumbo lending
Government designation required (VA Lapp)
