Senior Accountant

 Description Classification:  Accountant - Senior

Compensation:  $72,000.99 to $88,000.99 per year

SW Houston manufacturing company seeks a Senior Plant Accountant with very strong cost accounting knowledge to direct the new company's accounting and finance function. This is an immediate need, as the location is transitioning from an R&D operation to full production, and the company will initially rent their manufactured product to their customers. They are expecting significant growth in the near term and will be offering their product for sale as well. This will be a fantastic opportunity to have full responsibility for a growing company, and your responsibilities will grow right along with your experience while getting full support from the corporate accounting and finance staff.

This role will report to the group controller at corporate headquarters, and the Senior Accountant will be responsible for:
Preparing job cost reports and monitoring job costs and job variances from estimates
Vendor payables and customer billing
Preparing required journal entries
Monthly account reconciliations
Maintain fixed asset ledger
Financial statement preparation with variance analysis
Bank reconciliations, operational analysis, and revenue recognition
Ensuring internal controls are followed, and assist with revisions of policy and procedures
Lead the development of Annual Operating Plan, and document and develop accounting processes
Facilitation and review of audit work papers and preparation of lead papers for auditors
Participating in physical inventory

 RequirementsMinimum requirements for the Senior Accountant role include:
4 year degree in Accounting
A minimum of 5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment
Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis and month-end close responsibilities
Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems such as JD Edwards and Microsoft Dynamics
