Technical Accounting Manager

Classification:  Vice President

Compensation:  $100,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year

Our client, a world renowned leader in their industry, is currently looking to hire a talented professional to join their technical accounting group as Technical Accounting Manager and focus on IFRS. If you are hired for this Technical Accounting Manager position, you will be responsible for: reviewing and monitoring the activities of the IASB in relation to and prepare white papers on the implications of the proposed IFRS accounting standards and their impact; coordinate the implementation of new IFRS accounting guidance identify accounting issues and provide advice for these; leading implementation efforts for new accounting standards, participating in review of proposed standards and drafting of standard summaries; interfacing with various internal and external auditors on a daily basis; serve as a resource to the company in researching existing accounting literature to ensure its appropriate application to specific transactions and business situations; prepare comment letters delineating the company's positions on proposal-state accounting pronouncements and literature; analyzes and summarizes new and proposed accounting pronouncements to determine potential effects; coordinates the implementation of new accounting standards and pronouncements; prepare internal management summary updates on current accounting issues: and other special projects as necessary. Our client is a large multi-national manufacturing company. They are presently looking to expand their corporate accounting team and hire a highly skilled Manager of Technical Accounting who will concentrate on IFRS. Candidates must have 6 + years accounting experience including: worked for a larger public accounting firm, strong experience in preparing/reviewing of SEC documents, worked as an external or internal auditor, possess 2 + years accounting research experience and an exposure to IFRS, and have excellent presentation and communication experience. This position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting/finance and candidates are requires to have their CPA designation.
