Job Description

We are currently looking for a contractor to support our client in the Securities Group & FICC business. This is a six month contract to start with the potential to turn permanent.
In this fast-paced role, we are recruiting for a team member with familiarity of DTC and FED settlements who will be responsible for handling the whole life cycle of a trade.
From prematching trades, monitoring funding requirements, advising on shorts and resolving failing transactions, you will receive great exposure to various industry/market practices, processes and procedures. You will be the main liaison with custodians, clearers, middle office, collateral desk, traders, counterparties and other internal divisions daily providing great inter-personal communication and networking experience. Your strong numeracy skills will see you undertake the daily stock and cash reconciliations, as well as a responsibility in the fails management, reporting and escalation.
Your position will be to cover the North American markets with the standard working day from 8am to 6 PM.
To succeed in this role, you will need
At least three years of working experience in settlements processing at a Bank or Brokerage House
Exposure and experience in US equity settlements
Exposure and experience in US bond settlements
Familiarity with DTC and NSCC is preferred
Attention to detail and good organisational skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to handle fast-paced and high pressure situations
Ability to work flexible hours when needed
Strong computer skills are required, exposure to SWIFT, DTC, Broadridge/BPS will be highly favoured
Specific technical experience in US/CAD/Mexican market would be preferred. While not necessary, exposure and understanding of the products which we support will be looked highly upon, which includes securities lending, equity markets, ADR conversions, US treasuries, US bonds, institutional client agency trades, international cross-border settlement.
