Description
Team-oriented individual interested in becoming an integral part of the Finance team at College Loan Corporation’s Las Vegas headquarters.
Business Analysts work closely with people at all levels of the organization, including senior management, and gain experience in a variety of disciplines. As a member of a small team, opportunities for rapid expansion of responsibility exist for individuals with superior skills and performance.
Projects span a wide range of finance and risk functions and require a broad skill set.
SUPERVISION:
- Reports To: Vice President, Finance
Examples of potential projects include
- Assistance with the analysis of student loan securities, including the use of cash flow models to prepare valuations under various stress case scenarios;
- Monitoring of student loan and credit card portfolio credit quality, revenue performance, delinquency and default rates and creation as needed of segmentations that allow for improved forecasting and risk management;
- Coordination with external partners toward the measurement and improvement of portfolio performance; and,
- Design and production of reports used by key decision makers in the company. Responsible for data gathering, data integrity and interpretation of results.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2-4 years work-related experience in Finance, Accounting, or Operations reporting areas;
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to manage ambiguity, understand the objectives of multiple departments, while formulating and executing mutually beneficial solutions;
- Ability to review, analyze, and quality control monthly report data for accuracy and resolve any data discrepancies before it reaches final management distribution;
- Create, analyze, maintain and distribute recurring reports as requested by Finance and Accounting management using SQL, Cognos ReportNet, and other database querying tools;
- Ability to interface well at all levels of the organization and work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; and
- Excellent work ethic and independent judgment.
EDUCATION:
- BA or BS in engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, economics or finance
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with database concepts and statistical models
- Understanding of SQL tools and concepts
