Fabrication Supervisor

Well established manufacturing company in Hanover Park is looking for a fabrication department supervisor. This position’s primary responsibilities include production planning, evaluating new opportunities, quality assurance, and supervising a team. To qualify for this position, you need to demonstrate a strong knowledge of all fabricating equipment, drawings, and have some supervisory experience.  In particular, you should have significant individual experience welding heavy grades of steel and aluminum as well as have maintained AWS certification. You should be a self-starter that can work without direct supervision, and be comfortable working with Microsoft Word, Excel and e-mail applications. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.

• Hands on, floor level supervisor to manage the fabrication department.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all major fabrication operations (shearing, press brake, welding technology MIG and TIG)
• Working knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word
• Responsible for hiring, training, and discipline for assigned team.
• Adept at reading, interpreting, and understanding schematics and drawings
• Assume all quality control and quality assurance responsibilities in fabrication department
• Coordinate with the Plant Manager on production priority/requirements and plan a production schedule and forecasting
• Evaluate new lines of fabrication equipment and market opportunities
• Proven leader with strong supervisory skills, minimum three years experience
• Maintain highest standards of safety for assigned area
• Spanish is a plus
• Legally eligible to work in the United States

Salary:
$50-60,000
