Job Description: Actuant, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a $1.4B diversified industrial company with operations in more than 30 countries. The Buyer/Planner at ENS will be an integral position performing a combination of sourcing evaluations and analysis, procurement, supplier development analytical, project and production scheduling. The Buyer/Planner is expected to gain expertise and knowledge in procurement, planning/ and other related disciplines – eventually qualifying this individual for growth within the organization either within the procurement group and/or other functional groups. Key Responsibilities: Evaluation of core competencies relative to existing functions to determine a sourcing strategy, plus execution of the sourcing strategy.
Development and execution and sustaining of a supplier development strategy. Strategy to encompass all critical requirements of Nielsen Hardware products (including price, quality, service, etc.).
Information gathering for use in metrics development, key shortage reporting, and special projects. Translation of the data into information, analysis of information leading to recommendation for any required actions and publishing of the information. Also responsible for the implementation/coordination for implementation of approved actions.
Replenishment activities including releases for material, establishment of KanBan areas, etc..
Support the identification of opportunities to reduce the level of manual procurement transactions (e.g. individual P.O. elimination)
Manage inventory control through analysis to meet inventory turns
Establish and maintain a master production schedule
Support/Leadership for projects as assigned
Job Requirements
Required Capabilities: BS degree and 3+ years experience in Procurement/Planning and Quality.
Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
Strong process and analytical orientation
Exceptional ability to work in and/or form and lead cross-functional teams
Strong desire to consistently expand base of experience and skills.
Ability to understand essence of work versus solely the tasks required to get the job done
Some knowledge of LEAN concepts.
Competency with MS Office Programs – AND interest and desire to grow these skills.
Able to multi-task.
