Tax Manager - Private Wealth & Advisory 

Private Wealth & Tax Advisory Services Manager

As part of the tax team, the Private Manager will be responsible for providing and overseeing quality tax services for a diverse group of clients that include high net worth individuals, affluent family groups, corporate executives and business owners.

Background/Work Experience:

The ideal candidate will have managerial experience with a professional services firm and have expertise in client management. To be considered, candidates should have:

Basic Requirements:

  • 5-7 years experience working preferably with current tax experience serving wealthy family groups and their related partnerships and trusts

  • Experience performing tax planning and research, resolving complex tax issues, and giving recommendations to clients, relating to the Estate and Gift

  • Business development experience. Track record of generating extended services from existing clients as well as developing new clients

  • A proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients

  • CPA certification

  • Bachelor�s degree in Accounting

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Masters of Taxation preferred, or coursework towards a higher degree in process

  • Ability to bring to the Firm a book of business; that includes a mix of closely-held businesses and middle market clients, but does not include only individual tax return clients

  • Superior analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills

  • A proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships with CFOs, Controllers and small- to mid-sized business owners

  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills

  • The ability to consult effectively with key clients and become a trusted resource is essential for success in this position

  • High ethical standards, integrity and confidentiality, as well as adherence to both company policy and general accounting regulations, is expected

  • Must set high standards for both personal and team productivity while meeting client deadlines
    in a public accounting firm

    Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Promoting new ideas and business solutions that result in new clients for the firm or extended services to existing clients

  • Initiating cross selling to other practice units and service areas

  • Demonstrating expertise in an industry of functional area and building a strong reputation in the marketplace

  • Providing financial and assurance tax advice that enables client to increase shareholder value

  • Providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations

  • Delivering timely, high quality, and profitable services, that appropriately utilize Firm and client resources

  • Demonstrating commitment to the Firm People Philosophy by modeling appropriate behaviors, and acts with respect and dignity in interactions inside and outside the Firm

  • Attracting, developing, and retaining top talent

  • Keeping abreast of changes in industry regulations, and develops own competency through continuing education and by obtaining additional professional certifications

  • Providing appropriate and timely performance feedback to those supervised
