Position Summary


Senior Structural Engineer will have full structural design responsibilities for small and large projects. Complete design of steel and concrete frame buildings, specification preparation and generation of construction cost estimates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Specific skills include, design development and charrette leadership, conducting interviews and presentations, contract document presentation, quality assurance, constructability assurance, client communications and team participation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of the design delivery process, good common sense and articulate graphic, verbal communication and writing skills are required.
  • Structural design, coordination of structural drawing preparation, specification writing, cost estimating, technical review of other structural designs as well as multi discipline reviews of project.
  • Knowledge of design build delivery process.
  • Specification writing experience, preferably with government specifications.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or related commercial project experience.
  • Knowledge of cost estimate preparation for building construction.
  • Experience with varying structural loads and local conditions for projects nationwide.
  • Prefer experience working on DoD projects and for DoD clients
  • Experience in designing for high wind regions, high seismic regions or both are highly preferred.
  • Specific Software: RAM structural applications, MicroStation/AutoCAD

Minimum Education and Experience


Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, BSCE - MSCE a plus

Years Experience: 10 of structural design experience

Engineering License is required.

Strong background in design of steel, reinforced concrete, concrete masonry and foundations is required.

Travel requirements are sporadic but will be required.
