Infographic: The new job hunt

By Susan Ricker, CareerBuilder Writer

While catching up with a college friend, I asked how her job search was going. She shared some common frustrations over applying for jobs: how time-consuming it was, how random the entire process sometimes seemed and how irritating it was to not hear back from hiring managers. But perhaps the most significant story she shared was some advice her mother gave her, suggesting that she print out copies of her résumé, go to each company and hand them out. While we laughed at how unrealistic this approach is today, it emphasized just how much the job hunt has changed.
